Inspirated by the novel "Hồ Oán Hận" by writer Hồng Thái, "Người Vợ Cuối Cùng" is a historical psychological film set in the Nguyễn dynasty in Vietnam. LINH, the unwilling wife of a district official, born into a poor peasant family, is pressured by the senior wives in the household because she cannot fulfill her duty of bearing a heir. A chance encounter with her childhood sweetheart NHÂN leads to unexpected events that completely change her life. Their reunion sparks a series of surprising twists and turns, making her journey even more tumultuous than ever before.
